Cure Kiyoku has made a fascinating post on the subject of Cure Ace's identity in Doki Doki Precure: Who is Cure Ace?What do we all think? Could she be the Good Half of the Princess? Is she the Princess pure and simple? Or is she someone else altogether? Tell us who you think Cure Ace is here!

Important data:
Regina means "queen". Only redeemable characters get daughters. Pure evil can't beget anything real at all.
Therefore, if King Selfish has a True Self who is redeemed, Regina might be his daughter. If he does not, she's definitely *not* his real daughter.

Regina has no memories with her "father". Does she actually have any memories at all beyond recent ones? When the other Selfish first met her, they did not know her and she introduced herself as King Jikochuu's daughter. That is a little odd isn't it?
Also, Ai-chan recently hatched from an egg. If Ai-chan is Cure Ace's fairy wouldn't that mean Cure Ace is new (as a Cure, I mean) and yet she seems very experienced and acts like a sempai to the other Precures. She is also an experienced fighter. Can cures change fairies? Was Ai reincarnated? Was Cure Ace formerly a different warrior?
More questions than answers, but important points to consider, I think.

If she has no memories of the past, that makes it far less likely she really is King Selfish's daughter.

Do you think so? I think it makes it more likely. I am thinking her memory may have been erased in order to make it possible for her to believe she is King Jikochuu's daughter. Or alternatively she had some kind of rebirth and was "changelinged" by King Jikochuu.

Oh oh, there is another possibility. In the other Precure shows there was is the idea that all things spring from one source. In Suite Precure, there is the Crescendo Tone, the Note from which all other Notes come. Could Cure Ace be the Precure from which all Precures flow?
Heee...just another thought!

She is the fifth of four, as it were, like the Fifth Element which is the source of the other four, and she is the only one who does not have a suit name but is named after the Ace which is the head of each suit (and could be seen as its source since it is the number-one). So that is a possibility.
Then again, who ARE the Cures? What qualifies them? Are they reincarnations like the Sailor Senshi? Are they wearers of an Archetypal Mask?
Other than their current incarnation as particular schoolgirls, who, what and why are they?

Oh oh oh oh! I wonder if we are going to learn about that in this series?
Wouldn't that be exciting?

Oh - another thought. Regina-san suffers a strange pain in her chest from looking at Cure Ace. That is why she attacked her at the beginning of the last episode. Why would she feel that pain? Could it indicate that your theory is correct?

Curiouser and curiouser.
Well, we still don't know who Cure Ace is. We have learned that her civilian identity is Madoka Aguri, and she is a fourth grader. Though she is younger than the other girls, she speaks to them with authority even from her non-Precure form. She has assumed the role of senpai with the other girls, and the other girls accepted her in that role.
The Princess is still asleep, but she was able to speak with MakoPi-chan. There is no indication so far that she is either Cure Ace or Regina-san, although, there has not been any information that would contradict this theory either.
Cure Ace is so interesting, isn't she? Notice her call is not the same as the other girl, at all. She uses the call "Make Up!" which was the call from Sailor Moon. Won't it be exciting if we learn the origin of Precures?

Well, we have just gotten some information as to the identity of Cure Ace. Her grandmother is a neighbor of Mana-chan, and she is staying with her grandmother right now. It does not seem like she is the Princess, as she seems to have a well established civilian identity. She has lost to the minions of the Selfish Kingdom before, and she was reborn as a Cure when Ai-chan hatched.
There are still interesting mysteries surrounding her, though. It seems that the more answers we get, the more questions there are. For example, we are told that the reason that she grows up when she transforms is because of the strength of her feelings, yet she can only stay transformed for 5 minutes at a time. I wonder why that is? Can there still be a connection between Cure Ace and the Princess or Regina-san.
Oh yes, speaking of Regina-san, Mana-chan had a thought about her at the very end.
It is all very exciting and mysterious, isn't it?

I was going to say I wish I had seen it, but actually I have seen a large part of it three times. The trouble is that Japanese families tend to have the volume quite low on their televisions and quite high on their children. The children love the show, but they love it noisily which makes it difficult when your Japanese hearing is as bad as mine. Consequently I missed some of the finer points - like what anyone said.
The children sing Precure songs all the time. The only times they ever stop singing Precure songs is when they are eating, sleeping or singing AKB songs.

Oh dear! It must be fun though, watching with littleys, though. How adorable that they sing Precure songs all the time! Well, maybe as time goes on, you will be better able to understand, even over excited littleys.

Oh yes - I wouldn't miss the enthusiasm and excitement for the world! Not being able to follow the story is a small price to pay. I can catch up on that later.

I just saw the most recent episode of DokiDoki Precure! Wow!
For those of you who have not seen, below I will be giving some spoilers.
While many of us had long guessed that Cure Ace and Regina-san were the respective Light and Dark Sides of the Princess, I think that this episode was a surprise for many of us. It was a surprise for me, most certainly. In this episode, we learn the reason for the split!
What a dilemma for the King. The knowledge to save his daughter's life was available to him, but in order to access it, he had to release an evil that had been held captive by the Crown of Knowledge. He succumbed to temptation and used the crown, which gave the opening for the Ancient Primordial Evil to use him and turn him into King Selfish! Then the Princess split her heart into two...the part that knew her father was wrong to release the Evil, and the part that was grateful to her father for saving her life!
I do not think it gets deeper than this!
I wonder what will happen. Regina-san's eyes turned blue BUT then she sided with her father!
This is Precure, so I would imagine that both Regina-san and her father will be purified...but I wonder how that will happen!
